Millennium Estoril Open: ATP tennis on the Estoril coast

The Millennium Estoril Open is Portugal’s only ATP Tour tournament. It is played on outdoor red clay at the Clube de Ténis do Estoril, in Cascais, in the ATP 250 category. In 2026 it ran from 18 to 26 July, qualifying included, and Luca Van Assche of France won the singles title.

About the tournament

The event was founded in 2015 by the former tennis player Benno van Veggel and the football agent Jorge Mendes. It replaced the Portugal Open, an ATP stop since 1990. That event was played at the Jamor complex in Oeiras until 2014 and then cancelled for lack of sponsorship. The title sponsor is Millennium bcp. The tournament was not held in 2020 because of the pandemic. It was dropped from the ATP calendar after 2024. It returned in 2025 as an ATP Challenger 175 and regained ATP 250 status for 2026 and 2027.

Past champions

Richard Gasquet won the first edition in 2015. Nicolás Almagro (2016), Pablo Carreño Busta (2017) and João Sousa (2018, the last home winner) followed. Stefanos Tsitsipas won in 2019, Albert Ramos-Viñolas in 2021 and Sebastián Báez in 2022. The most recent champions are Casper Ruud (2023), Hubert Hurkacz (2024), Alex Michelsen (2025, Challenger) and Luca Van Assche (2026).

Where it takes place

The Clube de Ténis do Estoril is in Estoril, in the municipality of Cascais, on Avenida Conde de Barcelona according to the municipality. It lies roughly 25 kilometres west of Lisbon. The Cascais railway line stops at Estoril station, and the club has parking.
